This whole human experience is rooted in the receiving and offering of Love.
Life is simply enduring—and evolving—our relationship with it through different stages of being alive.
The older we become, the more susceptible we are to the duality of compound bitterness and compound joy.
Young heartbreaks.
Truths found behind lies.
Losses we never imagined surviving.
We lose loved ones—built-in Love that we often take for granted or completely ignore early in life. And yet, the power remains with each of us: the ability to create Love out of thin air.
The procreation of life.
Half you, half the person you connected with.
Compounded Love.
Then comes loss again.
The loss of a parent.
The loss of our first loves.
The loss of the foundation that shaped what Love would come to mean for the rest of our lives.
I understand this differently now—as a father.
To three children.
And as someone who has experienced the heartache of a miscarriage.
