I didn’t know who my father was.
Then I found this book.
He had marked every page like it was a manual for becoming human again.
In 2038, masculinity is either algorithmic or outlawed. But this paperback, found in the box labeled “For when you’re ready,” gave me my first real glimpse into the code my father lived by. King, Warrior, Magician, Lover was published decades before I was born, but it reads like a psychological survival guide for now.
He labeled it Artifact 0011.
Inside the front cover, he wrote:
“This is how I tried to raise you — even after I was gone.”
This artifact is a blueprint for wholeness in a world that splits men apart. The four archetypes marked in colored tabs. His final note in the Lover section reads:
“Only a whole man can give his family peace.”
Includes:
HarperOne paperback edition with full margin notes
Original post-it note from my father
Handwritten note from me
This isn’t just a book. It’s the father I didn't get to grow up with — teaching me how to become myself.
