This was the first clue.

My father left it behind without explanation. Just a post-it inside the cover:
“You’ll understand when you’re ready to live outside the noise.”

In the year 2038, no one reads books. AI feeds our minds faster than we can think. But this… this was different. When I opened this book, I felt like I was being reintroduced to my own thoughts. A first edition of Walden — printed in 1854 by Ticknor and Fields — it’s one of the few remaining artifacts from a time when people still chose to think slowly.

I don’t know who my father really was, but he marked this as Artifact 0001. Maybe it was the first item he collected. Or maybe he believed this was the key to everything.

I’m listing it here — not because I want to let it go, but because I was told I had to complete the challenge:

Includes:

  • Original 1854 first edition printing (Ticknor and Fields)

  • The original post-it left by my dad

  • A note from Lennox

Own it if you believe in living deliberately, even in the age of AI.
